Upon entering the property, you’re welcomed into the bright and airy open-plan living, kitchen and dining area. The space is stylish and homely. The tranquil space offers you a place to relax after a long day of exploring North Yorkshire. Get lost in a good book or switch on the flat-screen TV to catch up on your favourite shows. The dining table seats 4 guests so you can enjoy a delicious home cooked meal.
In the kitchen area you’ll find modern appliances. Well equipped with an oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster and kettle – Irishman’s Cottage has everything you could need for your short break.
The bedroom is a stylish oasis with calming neutral tones to provide a perfect setting to rest. This luxurious space features characterful wooden beams overhead and a large super king bed complete with pure cotton bed linen. This room will allow you to really enjoy some me-time while you a soak in the freestanding bath.
The en-suite has a clean and modern style, featuring a powerful shower, as well as a WC and wash basin. Towels and toiletries are provided for your convenience. Outside you’ll find a private patio, exclusive to Irishman’s Cottage. You’ll also be able to make the most of the scenic lake walks available on the site.
Please note that there is also a sofa bed at Irishman’s Cottage which can be made up if requested prior to your stay. This will increase the occupancy to 4.

We had a wonderful few days here. The cottage was perfect, the scenery stunning. The hot tub in the evenings was so peaceful and relaxing. The kitchenware and appliances were of a high standard and made cooking a pleasure. The bathroom too has been installed to a very high standard, the bath in the bedroom was an added luxury. We really can’t fault the cottage and we hope to come back again soon!

Wonderful cottage in an isolated and peaceful location. Everything you could want in a holiday home and some great extras like the hot tub and “General Store” with essential groceries just in case. Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Cottage has been renovated to an exceptionally high standard and everything you need is provided. Bed is super comfortable and shower and huge tub are great. It is so peaceful. There was something very special about sitting in the hot tub after a busy day walking watching the sun set and the hares play in the field. All you will hear while you stay is birdsong.

Our family had a fantastic week staying in the Irishman’s cottage. The cottage itself is extremely well presented and of the highest standard. The hot tub and furnishings made for a really relaxing stay and we enjoyed many walks around the idyllic grounds and lake. We were left wanting for nothing during our stay and the little shop with emergency basics was a welcome surprise. Anna was always contactable for when we had questions. We spent a week in this lovely cottage. It is perfect inside and out. The cottage itself is luxurious, spacious, and very clean with every amenity you need. There are a collection of 6 cottages in lovely, well-cared-for grounds with amazing views all around the cottage. The host Charles is on hand if you need anything and there is a store with an honesty box if you need any extra amenities. The cottage is so peaceful and the hot tub is wonderful to sit in and watch the sunset, we were so lucky to see an amazing sunset with the sky an amazing collection of colours. All in all I highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful and relaxing break.

We wanted to stay fairly close to home but still to have a week away. This location was perfect. The Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors and the Yorkshire coast are well known but the Yorkshire Wolds get unfairly overlooked . We will definitely be back as they are very beautiful in the summer sunshine. The cottage was a perfect place to stay. Very generous size for two people. Well equipped. No washing machine but there is one on site which is easy to use. There is also a small shop with a honesty box if there are things you forget. There are 6 cottages on the complex of differing sizes. The Irishman cottage is a bit more separated from the others. There is a wood fired hot tub that we used most days with perfect views over the wheat fields. Our stay coincided with the harvest which was interesting to watch from the hot tub. It is a short drive to lovely Malton and not too far to York but need to time journey to York as A64 can be busy. There are trains to York from Malton. Also easy access to cost and the Moors.

The Irishman’s cottage was perfect. Lovely and clean. We had everything we needed at the cottage, including a hot tub! The bedroom was big. Plenty of space in the living area too . Lots of pubs nearby if you don’t want to cook and beautiful countryside.
